… you can take part in courses at our water sports school or hire boards and boats. Or you can simply take a refreshing swim – perfect for those who like to swap the infinity pool for the lake every now and then.

Surfing

Whether you’re into windsurfing or kitesurfing, enjoy the perfect wind conditions on the “Tyrolean Sea” during your lake holiday in the Alps. Learn the right techniques with the pros at our water sports school.

Surf courses from age 6:

Basic course (starts Mondays and Fridays at 10 a.m.): 3 sessions of 3 hours each: €225.00 per person (minimum 2 people)
Introductory course: 3 hours for €95.00 per person
Additional day: €80.00 per person
Surfboard and rig rental: 2 hours for €30.00 (each additional hour: €10.00)

Stand-up paddling

Just you and your board: Stand-up paddling is a full-body workout with amazing lake views, as you skilfully balance and paddle your way to happiness. Experience the perfect mix of fun, relaxation, and exercise.

Rental price per hour: €12.00

Boating

Ahoy, Achensee! Rent a sailboat, canoe, or pedal boat and experience the beauty of Lake Achensee up close as the captain of your own vessel. Ready to set sail?

Price for a sailboat (2 hours): €60.00 (each additional hour €10.00)
Price for a canoe (1 hour): €12.00 (each additional hour €12.00)
Price for a pedal boat (1 hour): €15.00 (each additional hour €10.00)

Sailing

Cast off and head out on Lake Achensee! In the sailing course, you and your kids will learn the basics of this popular water sport – and you can even earn the International Sailing Licence.

Private sailing course (ages 14+, Wednesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): €125.00 for 100 minutes
Private Opti-sailing course (ages 6+, Wednesday to Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.): €70.00 for 50 minutes
Training for the International Sailing Licence (VDWS basic license): €60.00

Once you see this lake, you probably won’t need the sea anymore! Lake Achensee reaches a water temperature of up to 20°C in summer. It stretches 9 kilometres long.

And along one shore you’ll find the Familienresort Buchau’s private beach. Relax on the well-maintained sunbathing lawn – or chill out in the shade – before strolling along the wide private jetty and enjoying a refreshing swim.

You can get refreshments, snacks, and ice cream...

… every day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Buchau beach bar. What a wonderful, enjoyable, and delicious summer holiday in the Alps by the lake.

Your cosy bed by the lake

Lovebirds and adventurers, take note: If you are looking for a truly special kind of lake experience, then book our cosy bed by the lake. Whether as a couple or with the whole family, you’ll enjoy private, direct access to the lake with a spacious sunbathing lawn and snug little cabins with stunning lake views. And if it rains? Just close the canopy and listen to the raindrops as you relax.
