At our equestrian hotel in Austria, professional trainers offer riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders – all year round, come rain or shine.

Little riders (3-5 years)

Young horse fans gain their first playful experiences with the gentle ponies. Both on the ground and on the pony, they develop basic motor skills for healthy riding – completely pressure-free. At Familienresort Buchau, kids learn all about the world of horses and practice their social skills within the group.

Individual or group riding lessons for kids and adults (ages 6 and up)

Individual lesson: €60.00 per person

Group lesson: €38.00 per person (max. 4 people per group)

In the highly effective individual lessons at our equestrian hotel in Austria, your personal strengths and areas for improvement are the focus – whether riding lessons, longe lessons, or seat training.

Group lessons take place in small groups of similar skill levels. Riding freely in all three basic gaits, riders learn and improve their independence in the saddle.

Pony rental and lunging lessons

Pony rental (30 min.) | €15.00 per person

Pony rental with accompaniment (30 min.) | €30.00 per person

Longeing lesson (20 min.) | €30.00 per person

With pony rental, parents lead the ponies on a lead rope along Lake Achensee together with the kids. If you feel unsure, our riding instructors are happy to accompany you. Please note: We assume no liability.

Longeing lessons lay the foundation for beginners. Our trainers teach the correct seat and balance, provide the necessary safety, and build confidence both in riding skills and with the animals. These lessons are also suitable for advanced riders and pros looking to improve their seat.

Summer trail rides for experienced riders

Trail ride (1 hour) | €38.00 per person

Trail ride (3-4 hours) | €140.00 per person

Admire the stunning surroundings of Lake Achensee on a guided one-hour ride to the impressive waterfall.

For the longer ride into Bavaria, you’ll pass clear streams, green meadows, and fragrant forests. From our hotel in Austria, you’ll leisurely cross the border into Germany and back again.

To ensure your children’s safety and the well-being of our horses, please observe the following rules:

Safety comes first at our equestrian hotel, so wearing a helmet is mandatory.
Only one child is allowed to ride each pony at a time.
The only allowed gait is walking – no trotting or galloping. For riders eager to try more, our hotel with horse riding programmes offer additional options.
