Skiing by Lake Achensee? Yes, that’s possible too. Here you will experience the pleasure of skiing in the Tyrolean Alps with a unique view of the blue Lake Achensee. For your skiing holiday, there are three family-friendly winter sports areas available to you as well as a snow-covered nursery slope right in front of our ski hotel.
The Rofan ski area is located in Maurach and offers 11 km of perfectly groomed slopes with six lifts. Ideal for anyone looking for a relaxed day’s skiing, far away from crowded huts and slopes.Next door you will find the Karwendel ski area in Pertisau. There are both easy and more challenging runs for the whole family on its 12 km of slopes. But the other end of Lake Achensee also has a wonderful winter sports area. The Christlum ski area in Achenkirch has 27 km of pure fun on the slopes and 10 lifts for easy access. Here you will find slopes for every level of difficulty and also a halfpipe for snowboarders. As a very special hotel offer, you can also have lunch at the Christlum lift’s bottom station by prior arrangement. The Hotel Zillertaler is available for this purpose.

Comfortable arrival – ski bus

A ski bus runs between the ski areas every half hour and takes you from the bus stop in front of our Buchau ski hotel directly to your chosen winter sports area.

Skiing lessons on offer for your skiing holiday by Lake Achensee in Tyrol

If you would like to learn how to ski at Lake Achensee, we have something to offer you here too. Both children and adults can participate in ski courses here. For children we offer groups that are sorted by age, to be able to cater for your little ones ideally. Together with Bobo the penguin and his experienced ski instructors, children can have their first experiences on the slopes here. Courses of two or four hours are available six days a week.
For children from the age of two there is the toddler beginners’ course. Here we provide the ideal options for the first attempt on skis with the magic carpet and carousel.
From three to four years old, the little ones can build up and develop their skills with the “Windel Wedel Flitzer” toddler shuffling racers’ course on the snow playground and learn the basics of skiing on the Sonnenwiese.
From the age of six, your kids belong to the downhill demons and can enjoy great runs in the Rofan ski area.
At the end there is a little final race for our children where they can show off their newly learned skills and have a lot of fun.
