The unique location between the Karwendel valleys, the mountains and the lake guarantees varied running routes in varying degrees of difficulty. Through the picturesque scenery, Lake Achensee reveals itself as one of the most beautiful running destinations in the Alps. Nordic walkers and runners alike will find their personal favourite route on 183 kilometres of designated running tracks.
Here are a few of our personal favourite hiking and running routes:
From Buchau to Achenkirch or via Seespitz to Pertisau along the lake. Also with buggy or pram.
From Maurach/Lärchenwiese through the Weißenbach Valley to the Weissenbachalm.
Walking time: 1 ½ hours
Level of difficulty: easy
Starting from Pertisau, cars can park for a fee at the large car park on the toll road, a wide path leads to the Pletzachalm and then on to the Gernalm.
Walking time: 40 minutes to 1 hour
Level of difficulty: easy, also accessible by buggy
Starting from Pertisau, cars can park for a fee at the large car park on the toll road, a wide path leads via the Falzthurnalm to the Gramaialm.
Walking time: 1 to 2 hours
Level of difficulty: easy, also accessible by buggy
From the hotel over the Dalfazer waterfall in serpentine bends to the Dalfazer Alm.
Walking time: 2 hours
Level of difficulty: moderate
You reach the Buchauer Alm via the ski run in serpentine bends.
Walking time: 1 hour
Level of difficulty: moderate
From Buchau back to the Erfurter Hütte via Dalfazalm.
Walking time: 3 ½ hours

A beautifully laid out promenade path from the center of Maurach to Eben to the Notburga church. Return on the flat dirt road.
The newly laid out path of contemplation leads from Maurach to Pertisau. It was created in memory of St. Notburga.
Walking time: approx. 1 ½ hours (contemplatively)

Jump aboard, go on wonderful hikes in the fresh mountain air and enjoy one of the most beautiful alpine regions in Tyrol. 150 km of well-kept and marked walking and hiking trails are waiting for you. Discounts with the guest card!
Operating hours: The cable car runs daily every quarter of an hour (in case of bad weather with a break from 12.00 to 1.00 p.m.!) 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. or 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. (in peak season).
Special highlight: Glide majestically like an eagle through the air with the “Airrofan” Sky Glider!
Karwendel gondola
The Karwendel gondola takes you to a wonderful panoramic hiking area high above Pertisau, which invites you to go hiking, mountaineering, paragliding and just relax. Discounts with the guest card!
