Countless hiking routes, pleasant mountain pastures and a wonderful panorama

Discover the fascination of Tyrol on the Achensee with hiking and walking. One of the most beautiful paths begins directly on the doorstep of Rieser's Kinderhotel Buchau. The Tyrolean mountain path seal of approval guarantees you well-groomed and well-signposted hiking routes over a total of 500 kilometres.

In the family-friendly region a number of paths are suitable for outings with a pushchair. For sporty hikes we will be happy to lend you baby back carriers and buggies free of charge.

Gentle ascents take you through green meadows up in the Rofan and Karwendel mountains. Alternatively, the Rofan cable car will take you up very comfortably. A breathtaking view of the turquoise Achensee awaits you here. In the Karwendel mountains, with a bit of luck, you will see native wildlife such as golden eagles, ibex, chamois, roedeer, stags, marmots and many more.

In cosy and quaint Alpine huts you and your children can boost your energy with Tyrolean home cooking. If you wish, you can put together a snack to take with you from the breakfast buffet.

We have put together some hiking route recommendations for you here. Or take a look at the trail map.
