  • Achensee boat trip (May-Sept.)

    A special experience for grown up as well as younger captains: a boat tour of Tyrol's largest lake. Enjoy the wonderful views of the beautiful landscape from the water!
  • A nostalgic cog railway trip (May-Oct.)

    It is the oldest steam-powered cog trains in the world, which has run along the steep path from Jenbach up to the Achensee for over 115 years. The 7 km long journey takes around 45 minutes and offers spectacular views.
  • Gold mine adventure walk (May-Sept.)

    A show dairy with cheese tasting, a gold mine with a journey with the "Gold Express" and a petting zoo with mouflons, chamois and ibex, amongst other things. On this adventure walk at the Hainzenberg gold mine in Zell am Ziller you really do get your money's worth!
  • Schwaz silver mine (open all year)

    The mine railroad takes you 800m deep into the silver mine. 500 years ago, Schwaz was the largest silver mine city in the world and made Tyrol one of the richest countries in Europe. A fascinating trip back in time, both in winter and in summer.
  • Tratzberg Castle Jenbach

    One of the most well-maintained Renaissance castles in Tyrol. More than 500 years old, with a castle chapel, armoury and a beautiful courtyard with arcades. For children there are exciting fairytale tours, a playground and a fun children's train.
  • Innsbruck alpine zoo (open all year)

    At Europe's highest zoo you can discover today's animal world as well as animals from history. More than 2,000 animals and over 150 different species, including otters, brown bears, marmots, bald ibises, grouse and the unique cold water aquarium.
  • Planetarium in Schwaz

    Stars, planets, galaxies – at the Zeiss-Planetarium you will have the feeling that you are at the centre of the universe. Fascinating and great fun for all ages.
  • Achental Sixenhof local museum

    This is how past generations lived at the Achensee lake. The Sixenhof – a typical small farm – gives you a great impression of how things were in its 19 rooms, tool shop and more. Particularly recommended: Tyrolean mountain Christmas at Sixenhof with a crib set up in a very old stable with real animals as well as Tyrolean Advent delicacies.
  • Innsbruck – the capital city of the Alps (approx. 39 km from Maurach)

    Visit and marvel at the impressive art of Innbruck's imperial residences, churches and museums. Or enjoy the unique atmosphere of the regional capital of Tyrol while taking a stroll through the historic old town with its "golden roofs". The Christmas lights of Innsbruck are also worth seeing, as well as the traditional Christmas markets.
